CARAMEL APPLE DUMP CAKE
This is a
simple recipe, similar to a cobbler. A layer of sweet pie filling is topped with the easiest 2-ingredient crumble for an easy dessert everyone will rave about.

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add apples and sprinkle sugar on top. Stir and cook for about 3 minutes, until they begin to brown and caramelize here and there.
Place apples in baking dish, sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle with lemon juice and cornstarch mixture.
APPLE PIE FILLING
Put the dry cake mix in a medium bowl and add the melted butter all at once. Mix with a spoon.
It will be crumbly and have dry spots here and there. That is fine.
Spread the cobbler-like topping over the apples, covering loosely. Don't press. It won't cover the whole filling.
Bake according to the recipe instructions until the topping is dry and golden and the filling bubbles.
Let cool for about 20 minutes and drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
Or serve warm with a scoop of ice cream and caramel drizzled on top.
