Gooey CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE

with condensed milk

An old-fashioned cake with great chocolate flavor. The top layer is crackly outside but remains gooey and rather soft inside.

OLD FASHIONED CHOCOLATE CAKE

INGREDIENTS

Cocoa powder Condensed milk Brown sugar Unsalted butter Eggs Powdered sugar Flour Salt Vanilla Cinnamon

Make the chocolate custard and mix with the dry ingredients in a large bowl.

CAKE BATTER

Combine the chocolate mixture with the condensed milk. Mix until smooth.

CONDENSED MILK

Pour into the prepared pan and bake as instructed. Make sure you don't overbake it!

 BAKING

Combine cocoa powder with melted butter and mix until smooth. Add condensed milk and integrate very well. 

THE FROSTING

Add the powdered sugar and mix. Make sure the ingredients are well integrated and lump-free.

MIX WELL

The final mixture is silky smooth and unctuous. Use immediately, don't let it  harden.

SMOOTH FROSTING

Pour the frosting while the cake is still hot so it seeps into it. You can also poke holes in the cake surface before adding it.

POUR

It keeps for a few days at room temperature or in the fridge, and can be frozen.
