Juicy fruit layer, a crunchy biscuit topping, and out of the oven in an hour. YIELD: 6 servings

Strawberries Buttermilk Butter Sugar Cornstarch Flour Salt Citrus juice & zest Vanilla

Mix strawberries with sugar, cornstarch and flavorings. Scatter in the baking dish (round or rectangular).

For the biscuit topping: mix dry ingredients with melted butter and buttermilk.

Combine *just* until no dry spots remain. Use a spoon or spatula and don't overmix.

Drop mounds on top of the berry mixture, leaving space between them.

Bake until golden brown and the biscuits are fully baked. Let cool.

The fruit juices will create a fantastic strawberry syrup!

Serve it plain, at room temperature. Or warm, with a scoop of ice cream.

Refrigerate leftovers, covered or in an airtight container to prevent dryness.
