A bright and refreshing twist on a classic martini recipe made with limoncello, vodka, fresh lemon juice, and a touch of syrup. Easy and quick to prepare.
In a cocktail shaker, add 4 ounces limoncello, 2 ounces vodka, 1 ounce fresh lemon juice, 1 ounce simple syrup . Add enough large ice cubes so the shaker is about two-thirds full overall. This usually means a good handful of large cubes.
Close the lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
Strain the mixture into the prepared martini glass.
Add a lemon twist for an elegant touch.
Notes
Adjust the sweetness or tartness. Depending on your limoncello brand, you may want to reduce or increase the simple syrup slightly. Taste and tweak.Fresh lemon juice is non-negotiable: Bottled lemon juice can't match the bright, zesty flavor of freshly squeezed lemons; the drink will be flat and maybe bitter. Roll the whole lemons before cutting to extract maximum juice.
