– Pie crust – Fresh strawberries – Sugar – Strawberry jello powder – Water – Cornstarch – Lemon juice – Whipped cream
You need a fully baked flaky pie crust. Nothing beats homemade, but you can use purchased dough.
Mix strawberry pieces with sugar in a bowl and let stand 30 minutes to release juices.
Drain over a bowl and let the juices drip for 15 minutes.
Mix juice with water and gelatin and cook with cornstarch until it thickens.
This step is optional but it's faster. Stir over ice to cool down or let it at room temperature (takes longer)
Pour gelatin mixture over fresh strawberries in pie crust. Refrigerate until set.
Decorate with sweet whipped cream and fresh strawberries.
