Basic Recipes
What do we consider basic recipes?
There are recipes that are fundamentals, basic recipes that are components of a larger recipe but are a whole recipe in themselves.
For example, Frangipane (a.k.a. almond cream) which is used in the Apricot Tart, the Strawberry Danish Braid, and other recipes. Instead of adding the detailed recipe for frangipane to each of the posts that use it, we have a whole post dedicated to it, with step-by-step images and tips for making it.
Pie crusts are in this category as well, such as the Italian sweet crust we use for the Fig Tart and The Best Ricotta Pie.
